Margaret Palmer worked for a number of years in the county jails as a volunteer counselor for women. During that span of years, she saw many inmates make significant changes in their lives. However, some of them, shortly after being released, would find their way right back in jail again. The Lord impressed Margaret to do something which would reverse that trend.Being obedient to the call, Margaret began the long and tedious journey to establish the Hillsborough House of Hope. Now it's a reality serving women of this area and giving them a real chance to make a brand new life for themselves. The vision has come to fruition and God is blessing them in many ways. We are so thankful for this wonderful ministry being available to the inmates of Hillsborough County. ![]() Margaret Palmer, Founder RESIDENT TESTIMONIALS: HHHope saved me. I was lost, came to HHHope and began to find myself with guidance from the Program and God’s help. Now I live in the graduate house (Pat Cook House), have graduated from a local private college, I have a job with benefits and my own car. -Robin Going in and out of jail to having a great job, 2 cars, being an apartment manager and having my own apartment. Thanks to HHHope for helping me to this point in my life. -Annette.
HHHope guided me with love and lots of support from the streets to success. I have my own apartment, attending a Community College, I am an Outreach coordinator for VOA a women’s program and 2 years of sobriety. Never thought I could get here. -Renee “I enjoy working with the residents of the house. It is a rewarding but challenging position. The House Manager has to exemplify Christian morals and standards because the residents are looking to her to be a role model. Our ladies come from diverse cultures and backgrounds. I’ve found that we have more in common than differences but certainly our family composition, views and beliefs have an influence on how we view our surroundings. Our residents all have a common illness. That illness is called the Disease of Addiction. It does not matter whether the addiction is alcohol, crack, and meth or prescription drugs, there is hope and there is help if one is willing to admit they are powerless and accept the help. -Ms. Johnnie Volunteer It takes a lot of hard work to make it all happen. Thanks to our
Board of Directors, Advisory Board and Executive Committee for their
service to Hillsborough House of Hope.
